You are most likely seeing classic chromatic aberration (CA), the details of which are explained in beautiful detail by Van Walree. (See also HyperPhysics or Wikipedia.) In short, chromatic aberration results

This is simple but it is often overlooked. The most important point here is that you don’t have to get your auto loan from the dealership.
